Follow the Money
This past year, personal injury lawyers engaged in an effort to take control of the West Virginia Legislature. Personal injury lawyers funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars into numerous targeted campaigns in a successful attempt to pick the next Speaker of the House, Delegate Rick Thompson. After researching all publicly available campaign finance reports for the 2006 election year, WV Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse has compiled a “Dirty Dozen “ list of the twelve legislators taking the most money in large contributions this past year from personal injury lawyer interests.
